Juan Manuel Pellerano concentrates his practice in Corporate Litigation, Constitutional Law, Business law, Admiralty and Maritime Law, Insurance, Telecommunications, Banking.
Experience
Founding Partner of the Firm. Focuses his practice in litigation of major complex cases, representing clients in Corporate and Personal areas. Has also been very active in advising clients involving the Banking, Commercial, Insurance, Communications and Maritime industries, among others.
The prestigious British legal publication, Chambers Global, refers that Dr. Pellerano is the best known lawyer in the community and is called a “Lawyer of Lawyers” and also the most complete lawyer in the country.
- From 1982-1986, Dr. Pellerano was the legal advisor to the president of the Dominican Republic. He also has served as a member of the Commission for the Preliminary Bill of the Commerce Code, as president of the Editing Commission for the Re-edition of the Commerce Code, and as vice president of the Hipólito Herrera Billini Association, an organization dedicated to the enhancement of legal research in the Dominican Republic.
- Dr. Pellerano was the Director of the National Council of Magistrates from 1997 to 1999 and he has taught civil law in the University of Santo Domingo, where he served as the University's Director of practical instruction service.
- He was also a professor of civil law at the Universidad Pedro Henríquez Ureña and wrote many of the textbooks used by law students throughout the country.
- He is the Director of the editorial review board for Estudios Jurídicos law magazine.
- Juan Manuel Pellerano is considered the pursuer of several legal resources of the constitutional remedy better known as “Amparo” before the local courts.
