Collaborative Program to the Help Foundation for Safe Houses for Women (PACAM)

As part of its program to serve the community, and in view of the major incidence of intra family violence in Dominican society, Pellerano & Herrera maintains a collaborative program with the Patronato de Ayuda a Las Casas de Acogida para las Mujeres (PACAM). Through this agreement the lawyers at Pellerano & Herrera are committed:

  • To train a group of volunteers about the legal implications and the rights of abused women. To prepare a brochure containing this information for the use of PACAM and the volunteers.
  • To prepare an analysis and opinion concerning Law 24-97 which introduces modifications to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedures Code and the Boys, Girls and Adolescents Protection Code, specifically what relates to the subject of patrimony.
  • To offer an educational module to judges and other officials in order to improve the capacity of individuals and institutions responsible for handling the procedures and laws related to violence against women.
  • Preparation of the bill for the Implementation Regulations of Law 88-03 which created the Safe House.
  • To provide legal advice to PACAM in matters related to its operations.
