Experience

Partner in the Litigation Area, he has an extensive experience in the management of litigation cases regarding civil and commercial matters, labor law, criminal law, fiscal law, and banking. He has participated in the most well known cases that have taken place in the Dominican Courts, including banking disputes, constitutional matters, processes of arbitration and fiscal cases.

With extensive experience as a trial lawyer, he has represented corporate and individual clients in complex business and transactional disputes. He has successfully argued appeals and has in-depth experience handling individuals´ personal matters.
 
Some representative transactions include:

• Litigation in the Arbitral Court of the Santo Domingo Chamber of Commerce in defense of a local liquor and rum manufacturing;  
• Filed the country’s first action, on constitutional grounds, against several articles of the Dominican Tax Code involving the principles of “Solve et Repete”, the Supreme Court declared the unconstitutionality of the Solve et Repete.
• Represented a major trust bank in Hong Kong in a major collections case.
• Represented the president of one of the biggest commercial banks in the country in the defense litigation procedure arising from the fraud case filed by the Central Bank.
