Experience
Partner in the Foreign Investment Department, Mr. De Castro is the Director of the firm´s labor and social security group and his practice encompasses a wide range of employment and labor law issues. He has also assisted foreign and local clients in a variety of corporate real state and commercial matters, including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, licensing and distribution transactions. He is also the leading partner in counseling several clients in the real state, sports, global entertainment and filming industries.
Mr. De Castro is the former Ambassador of the Dominican Republic in France and Morocco for the period of 2000 – 2002.
Some of his relevant cases are:
- Counseling the main group of oil, gas and petrochemical companies in the country in their divestiture procedure in the country, including selling their shares in the Oil and Gas Refinery, and selling off their retail and distributorship business;
- Establishment in the country of several European retailers;
- Advices Major League Baseball and several baseball teams, such as New York Mets, Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Texas Rangers in their operations in the country;
- Provided legal advice to several international movie productions in the country.
