Experience

Managing partner and head of the firm’s finance services department, representing commercial and investment banks, insurance companies and financial institutions in financings, securitizations, restructurings and project financing, with a broad experience in corporate debt financing. He has represented borrowers, lenders and credit enhancers and has been involved in a variety of domestic and foreign banks transactions in the country.

His practice also focuses on mergers and acquisitions, where he has advised several local and international companies. He has also been very active in transactions related to tourism investment and developers in the country, with extensive expertise in real estate matters.

In the recent years he has been pursuing the modernization of law practice in the Dominican Republic and is well known for the incorporation of state-of-the-art technology and innovative practices in the delivering of legal services.


Some representative transactions include: 

• Counseled a hotel group in recapitalizing to facilitate additional financings
• Advisor to a Multinational company from Mexico, in the acquisition of two local meat and dairy processing plants
• Counseled the acquisition of the largest insurance company in the Dominican Republic
• Counseled the biggest producer of grain and wheat related products in the country on the sale of their company

More recently he has been involved in counseling the Dominican Navy to restructure its organization and he is also involved, through the Pellerano & Herrera Foundation, as head of the Masters in Legal Practice for Lawyers, in collaboration with the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), a renowned higher education institution in the Dominican Republic and Latin America, recognized for the exceptional preparation and leadership of its graduates.
