Resolution 01/2021 Minimum Wage Increase

On July 14, 2021, the National Salary Committee issued Resolution No. 01/2021 regarding the national minimum wage for workers of the non-sectorized private sector, which included new criteria for classifying companies, and established a new minimum wage for workers of the non-sectorized private sector, with a staggered increase, as follows:

 

Big Enterprises (≥ 151 employees, or gross annual sales + DOP$202,000,000.00)

July 16, 2021 - DOP$20,000.00

January 1st, 2022 - DOP$21,000.00

 

Medium-sized Enterprises (51-150 employees, and gross annual sales DOP$54,000,001.00 - DOP$202,000,000.00)

July 16, 2021 - DOP$18,500.00

January 1st, 2022 - DOP$19,250.00

 

Small-sized Enterprises (11-50 employees, or gross annual sales DOP$8,000,001.00 – DOP$54,000,000.00)

July 16, 2021 - DOP$12,400.00

January 1st, 2022 - DOP$12,900.00

 

Micro-sized Enterprises (≤ 10 employees, or gross annual sales ≤ DOP$8,000,000.00)

July 16, 2021 - DOP$11,500.00

January 1st, 2022 - DOP$11,900.00

 

In accordance to the guidelines of Resolution No. 01/2021, if a company meets the scale criteria of different categories, meaning, the number of workers in one category, and gross sales in another one, the greater scale will be applied in order to determine its category.

 

Workers who provide services as security guards in private security and surveillance companies, will be receiving an increase in their salary in the following manner:

 

July 16, 2021 - DOP$16,750.00

January 1st, 2022 - DOP$17,250.00

 

In addition to the above, farm workers will receive daily a minimum wage of DOP$500.00 for a workday of ten (10) hours.
