
DR obtains great advantages in DR-CAFTA negotiations

SANTO DOMINGO.- The director of the National Council of the Competitiveness, Andrés Vanderhorst Alvarez, assured yesterday that Dominican Republic has obtained great advantages in the DR-CAFTA negotiations, “which they were not greater due to the United States negotiating team’s time constrains”.
Vanderhorst Alvarez assured that those advantages obtained by DR in the negotiations could be a precedent for other nations, at the same time he showed great hopes for the treaty to be effective as of next November the 1st.
He assured that the impasse on medicine patents is being solved.
At the end of an interview by Telematutino 11, transmitted by channel 11 of Telesistema, he announced the celebration of a seminar on Promotion to the Export and Institutional Development.
The activity, which will count with the participation of international experts, will be held in hotel V Centenario of this city.
The seminar has the objective to analyze better competitiveness development practices and human development.
